PICKUPS!

Electric guitar pickups take one form of energy (acoustic vibration) and transduce (morph, mutate, change) it into another (electric voltage)… Kinda cool? We hanker for transduction! Hanker! Initiating your electrification is a rite that makes us feel perfect. Whoa-Ho! It’s Magick! We make these thangs with mounds of intention. They smell and taste alright, too…

Sooo… about the thangs we make? Well, we can make just about anythang, but we don’t crank ‘em out for kicks, we make ‘em fresh to order. You can peruse the models with the most sweat trapped inside below. They all fit in a standard humbucker route. If that doesn’t suit ya… we’ll come up wif sumpin speshul!

If you wanna get your paws on our pickups, pretty please get in touch! We do our best to keep our stuff priced at $100/coil, but sometimes special materials cost… more.

We encourage you to reach out. We think the best approach to guitar electronics is a holistic one, and we wanna work with you to design the right p’ups for your instrument. It’s mostly fun for us…

SCNK!

Single Coil Neck Pickup. $100.

Scink! Sconk! Scunk! It has an aura of sticky dust, but it hums some nice tunes. It wants to be your friend. Let it open up to you.

This is the neck pickup we dreamt of in modern G-style guitars for years. They aren’t as silent as a true hum cancelling design, but the shielding is excellent, so the noise floor is lower than your average single coil. We wanted something flexible that would at least feign accountability to the innate timbre of the instrument. We’re talkin’ kinda-sorta-flat frequency response with excellent high and low extension, and touch sensitive dynamics that boil over into and an addictive burble and gggrrinddd with more aggressive right hand technique. AlNiCo IV magnets. Freakishly thin enameled wire (44AWG). All yer standard colorz. Pairs excellently with SCBR! or DCBR! (we’re really into the SCNK! / DCBR! combo).

SCBR!

Single Coil Bridge Pickup. $100.

Scoobry! Scabbrd! Scabra Cadabra!! Nutrient-dense, character-rich lead tones from this crunchy critter. The ancient winds of the dogmos whistle through it’s carapace.

A lead pickup for the brave, with a distinct character that moves from tender engagement to brash honk to hallowed wail. If you’re looking at a P90 type thang for your bridge position, you’ve probably been listening to the voices from Out There, you (they) probably know what you (they) want, and you (they) probably aren’t interested in further discussion. AlNiCo IV magnets. Freakishly thin enameled wire (44AWG). All yer standard colorz. Pairs excellently with SCNK!

DCNK!

Dual Coil Neck Pickup. $200.

Decenk… Woof. D’CNKEROR! For a vintage output humbucker? Taking suggestions. Hey: “Taking Suggestions.” Tell the guy upstairs.

You know if you need a humbucker here. Yeah, you with the noise floor you’re running out of energy to ignore every time you “lean back” into a clean part. For the rest of us, it’s a buttoned up alternative to the SCNK! Smoother, a little more compressed, a little more refined or whatever. A little less sensitive and capricious? Mm, but maybe also a little less outgoing. Probs mostly for the cats that like to kick it in back. AlNiCo IV magnets. 42AWG plain enamel wire. 2 or 5 conductor lead available. All yer standard colorz. Pairs excellently with DCBR!

DCBR!

Dual Coil Bridge Pickup. $200.

Deceiber! Decebter! Welcome it in so it can burn a hole in your floor while it distracts you with direct eye contact. Cleans up nice for somber occasions.

This is kinda s’posed to be our most perfectest bridge ‘bucker. We’re pretty sure you’ll find this thing rips. Thick, furry, toothy, and confident! Our kinda date! Nice power without going splat against your input stage. Best friends with the volume knob. Give it a try! AlNiCo IV magnets. 42AWG plain enamel wire. 2 or 5 conductor lead available. All yer standard colorz. Pairs excellently with SCNK! or DCNK! (We’re really into the SCNK! / DCBR! combo).

Look, we said it twice and we’ll say it thrice… We’re really jazzed on the SCNK! / DCBR! combination. The pair was developed in collaboration with Lambdin Morello Guitars as a standard appointment for their instruments, and has weaseled its way into many a cherished corpus guitarus since. Wairz tha harm? Leddus make a believer oudda ya…
